"Rasul Hamza Touf" was a poet of Avar language. He belonged to the village of Sada in Dagestan. "My Dagestan" is his first prose book which was first written in Avar language and then translated into Russian. It has been translated into Urdu by Ajmal Ajmali. Book Corner Jhelum has published it in an excellent manner. It has a total of 408 pages.The beginning of the book is written by the famous Urdu writer Mustansar Hussain Tarar... in which a very good introductory discussion has been given regarding the personality of Rasool Hamza Touf and his poetry. Tarar Sahib likes this book so much that he says that I remember this book almost by heart.
Rasool Hamza Touf also came to Pakistan and Tarar Sahib has also described the situation of his meeting with him which is quite interesting and related to reading.
Hamza Sadasa, the father of Prophet Hamza Touf, was also a well-known poet. Rasool was inclined towards communism while Hamza was a staunch Muslim.
Rasool Hamza Touf wrote a poem under the influence of the Communist Party against “Imam Shamil” who is the hero of the entire Central Asia…… He became part of the propaganda of the Communist Party that Imam Shamil was an agent of the British. When the Prophet wrote this poem, his father Hamza said to his son that you have not done well by writing about Imam Shamil. After some time, Prophet Hamza realized his mistake. He wrote an apology in the form of a poem... in which tribute was paid to Imam Shamil.
Salman Khalid also has an introductory text about Rasool Hamza, in which it is stated that Faiz Ahmad Faiz has translated the poems of the Rasool into Urdu in his book "Sar Wadi-e-Sina". This is followed by the introduction of "Vladimir Solovakhin" who translated the book from Avar to Russian. He has described this book as a biography. It is also somewhat autobiographical... but the literary genre of this book is difficult to determine. Because it's not even fully autobiographical. This book looks like a conversation, in which there are many incoherences. It has stories and experiences. It is also a prose work of high quality…… in which poetry has also been used. Therefore, this book cannot be counted in any particular literary genre. The main beauty of this book is the irrelevance of the subject. About this, the author himself has written in the book: "Critics will debate whether this book is a novel or a story... but the truth is, no one can tell what it is."
Tauf further writes that he is writing according to his heart's direction without being bound by rules and regulations. After reading the book, one can understand that Rasool Hamza Tauf's words are absolutely correct, indeed this book is written from the heart and is free from the constraints of rules and regulations.
Then, along with inspirational quotes and instructive stories, one thing that is felt most is the love of one's soil. Rasool Hamza Touf is everywhere captured by the love of Daghestan and we know the love even from his mother tongue Avar. This love for Mother Boli also makes us think a lot. Because our treatment of mother tongue is quite sad.
Rasool Hamza writes that "A child learns to speak in two years and a person learns how to hold his tongue after 60 years!"
Language plays a key role in the causes of many conflicts……and if it is silenced on occasion, many conflicts end at that point.
Touf says that nature has given man two eyes and two ears along with one tongue so that he can take care with his eyes and hear everything with his ears before using his tongue.
